I KEEP HEARING ABOUT TERPENES…
For good reason. Many of the effects often associated with strain specific qualities of hemp may be attributed to terpenes.
We are proud to be at the forefront of the hemp industry and offer live-hemp-derived terpenes in all of our aromatherapy diffusers. Hemp stalks are frozen at the time of harvest and later steam distilled under vaccum, preserving peak flavor profiles found at the time of harvest.
Live-terpenes are very delicate. As hemp is traditionally cured many of the compounds are oxidized and destroyed. Similarly, live-terpenes procured from fresh hemp will lose some of their flavor complexity if exposed to ambient conditions. We take special care to provide you with an aromatherapy diffuser that contains terpenes as they exist at the time of harvest.
WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY SMALL BATCH?
We consider ourselves an artisanal producer in that each batch of live-terpenes may only exist in 20-30mL quantity. When mixed back in to our aromatherapy diffusers at 5% concentration, this gives the potential for a maximum run of 4-500mL. While we often rotate the same strains, each harvest may produce a minutely different flavor profile.
Think vintages in the wine industry.
WHY ARE YOUR PRODUCTS FILL TO ORDER?
This preserves optimal quality and shelf-life to you. Due the fragile nature of live-terpenes, including their ability to degrade in quality at ambient temperatures and their ability to separate from solution over time, we prefer to store all ingredients for our aromatherapy diffusers in sub-zero temperatures until they are needed for an individual order.
CARRIER TERPENES? WHAT’S THE DEAL?
A carrier liquid is required for crystalline hemp oil to function in our aromatherapy diffusers. There are many options for carrier liquids – we choose to use as few plant derived terpenes as possible for our highly concentrated solution to remain stable and not re-crystallize.
No PG, VG, PEG, MCT, D8, Vitamine E, etc..
Be very wary of companies that do not tell you what is in their product.
“XYZ COMPANY” SAYS NO DILUENTS USED
Non-psychoactive, legal hemp derivatives like CBD and CBG exist in a crystalline state in their pure form. Be very wary of anyone marketing a non-crystalline product, even a distillate, that they claim contains no diluents while still maintaining below the legal threshold of 0.3% THC.
Even a THC-free distillate above 85% cannabinoid concentration is going to crystallize over time; this will not function in the aromatherapy diffuser hardware found here. Distillates of a lower concentration are going to contain visible impurities like waxes that make them unsuitable for our hardware while also unable to form a stable solution with live-hemp-derived terpenes.

Please recycle Hushpuffs’ internal batteries and external housing in accordance with your local regulations.

WHAT IS THE GREEN BLINKING LIGHT?
One end of the Hushpuff pen is a green battery light indicator. It lights up as you are diffusing successfully. It blinks green to indicate when battery is low.
